Dear Sunnyvale Families,

This past week offered a meaningful opportunity to recognize the collective care and dedication that support our students and strengthen our school communities. We celebrated many of the individuals who serve your children each day, including our bus drivers, school nutrition teams, principals, and teachers.

Each of these roles plays an essential part in the daily life of our schools. Our bus drivers provide a safe and steady start and end to each student’s day. Our nutrition services teams ensure students are nourished and ready to learn. Our principals lead their school communities with care, purpose, and a focus on student success. At the center of it all, our teachers bring learning to life, creating classrooms where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired.

Across our sites, many also began recognizing their Employees of the Year, further contributing to a shared sense of appreciation and celebration throughout our district.

This time also marks the start of National Physical Education and Sport Week, highlighting the importance of movement and wellness as part of a well-rounded education. I have had the opportunity to see firsthand the strength of our physical education programs and extend my gratitude to our teachers for fostering healthy habits, confidence, and positive relationships with physical activity.

While these recognitions focus on specific roles, they also reflect the collective effort that supports every student. Together, we continue to create environments where students feel seen, valued, and ready to learn.

As this past week provided so many opportunities for gratitude, I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to each of you. Your partnership and support play an important role in the success of our students and our schools. Thank you for being part of the Sunnyvale community.

Estimadas familias de Sunnyvale:

La semana pasada nos brindó una valiosa oportunidad para reconocer el esfuerzo, el cuidado y la dedicación que, en conjunto, apoyan a nuestros estudiantes y fortalecen nuestras comunidades escolares. Celebramos a muchas de las personas que sirven a sus hijos cada día, incluyendo a nuestros conductores de autobús, equipos de nutrición escolar, directores y maestros.

Cada uno de estos roles desempeña un papel esencial en la vida diaria de nuestras escuelas. Nuestros conductores de autobús brindan un inicio y un final seguro y constante a la jornada de cada estudiante. Nuestros equipos de servicios de nutrición aseguran que los estudiantes estén bien alimentados y listos para aprender. Nuestros directores lideran sus comunidades escolares con compromiso, propósito y un enfoque en el éxito estudiantil. En el centro de todo, nuestros maestros dan vida al aprendizaje, creando salones donde los estudiantes se sienten apoyados, motivados e inspirados.

En todos nuestros planteles, muchos también comenzaron a reconocer a sus Empleados del Año, lo que contribuye aún más a un sentido compartido de aprecio y celebración en todo el distrito.

Este tiempo también marca el inicio de la Semana Nacional de Educación Física y Deporte, destacando la importancia del movimiento y el bienestar como parte de una educación integral. He tenido la oportunidad de ver de primera mano la fortaleza de nuestros programas de educación física y extiendo mi agradecimiento a nuestros maestros por fomentar hábitos saludables, la confianza y relaciones positivas con la actividad física.

Aunque estos reconocimientos se enfocan en roles específicos, también reflejan el esfuerzo colectivo que apoya a cada estudiante. Juntos, continuamos creando entornos donde los estudiantes se sienten vistos, valorados y listos para aprender.

Así como esta semana nos brindó muchas oportunidades para agradecer, también quiero expresar mi más sincero agradecimiento a cada uno de ustedes. Su colaboración y apoyo desempeñan un papel importante en el éxito de nuestros estudiantes y de nuestras escuelas. Gracias por ser parte de la comunidad de Sunnyvale.
